This 8×8 inch square shallow plate is specified for food service operations / catering operations that need a stable main-serve format with controlled plating area. The square footprint increases usable surface for portion control and consistent presentation, while the shallow profile supports fast pass-through and stacking during high-volume service. It is commonly used where side servings are placed alongside dry-to-semi-wet mains, and where a spill-proof alternative to paper or foam is needed for short holding and high handling.
The plate is formed from areca sheath and heat-pressed at 180°C to lock the fiber structure into a rigid, repeatable shape. Heat pressing creates a semi-hydrophobic surface and improves edge strength, supporting industrial-grade durability with wall thickness 1.5–2.5 mm. The structure holds through a thermal range −20°C to +120°C and provides liquid resistance (6–8 hours) for typical service exposure to sauces and moisture without rapid soak-through.
For export movement, moisture content 6–7% is maintained to reduce warping risk and support ocean transit stability across humid lanes.
